Concert Friday evening, April 30, 8:00 p.m.
(please note the change of venue)
Our artists-in-residence Deirdre Harnedy and Helen Gubbins, will perform with Minneapolis duo "Five Mile Chase" - Brian Miller (guitar/vocals) and Django Amerson (fiddle). Brian and Django both studied at University College Cork for a year, where they met Helen and Deirdre. The foursome got together last August at the Milwaukee Irish Fest and played together informally, then in March Helen and Deirdre went to Minneapolis for a few days to play some gigs with them. It's turned out to be a great combination and great music.
This will be the last concert with both Helen and Deirdre, who came to Columbia last June to teach music for the summer. Deirdre has been here all year, and Helen came back this spring to teach for two more months.
There will be a reception to follow, so bring some goodies to share. Help us say "Thank you!" to Helen and Deirdre for sharing their talents with our community this year.
You can read more about the foursome on the web site: www.moceltic.org

Sponsorships/Fundraising / Volunteer
(Celtic Music Needs YOU!)
We are seeking individuals and organizations to be sponsors for our 2004 Summer Arts Program. Bringing musicians from Ireland to teach and perform in our community for the summer is an expensive undertaking as work visa and travel costs have increased substantially this year.
CMCAA has consistently tried to make our classes, concerts and other events accessible to everyone and keep fees low, as well as provide instruments for beginning students, but sustaining these programs requires support from our community. We're very proud of our summer arts program and the authentic learning opportunities it offers as well as adding to the cultural diversity of central Missouri.
