Vital Statistics

Things you would learn from meeting Khalid:

Height:  5' 10"

Weight: 170

Age: early thirties

Coloring: Dusky skin the color of fresh ginger root, cinnamon brown eyes, wavy sable hair that tends to  look perpetually damp.
Body type: He usually wears loose, billowy clothing, so it's not always obvious, but he has a well toned and defined body, that is not overly muscular, and judging by the way he contorts his limbs into what he considers comfortable postures, he's quite limber as well.

Typical mannerisms: Khalid uses his hands a great deal when he speaks, illustrating his points with fluid, concise gestures.  He speaks with a rolling accent that rarely interferes with his pronunciation of the Common tongue, although it is his second language. Whenever possible, he prefers to go barefoot.

Things you might learn from knowing him for awhile:
(Please don't use this info ICly unless your character really would know it.)

While not nearly the fop that his friend Geoff Dutton is,  Khalid does pay a good deal of attention to his appearance, and especially his personal hygiene. In fact, he has quite the obsession with bathing... or so it would seem, given the regularity with which he does it. Of course, it might be that coming from a desert clime, this is the norm.

Scent is important.  Whether it be curried food, cinnamon tea or sandalwood bathwater, Khalid surrounds himself in a variety of wonderful scents and almost always notices same where ever he goes.

Politics and diplomacy are not his chosen vocation. He has had little tutoring in being a diplomat, but tends to rely on his natural charm and extensive and well-read knowledge of history to get him by. It's been working so far.

Khalid is honest and forthright and detests hypocrisy. Ask him a question and he'll give you an honest answer, but be sure you want to hear it.

He's a pacifist through and through. He carries no weapon and does not personally embrace violence.  This is a personal ethos, not one he preaches upon or asks of others. He's quite content to have a score of Tolman men-at-arms garrisoned with the Royal Guard.

He doesn't wear underwear.  Despises it, in fact.  Though here again, this might be a cultural thing.
