Khalid's first report to the Shataan of Tolmas

Most Revered and Magnificent Shataan,

My first tidings as Ambassador to D'Image are glad ones. I have arrived safely; our journey was untroubled and favored with good weather. The presentation of gifts to His Majesty Bradley D'Image went well and impressed both King and Court with their splendour and generosity.

In subsequent audience with His Majesty, he agreed to all conditions for receiving a Mahsheed and graciously accepted M. Safira into his service.  When fully explained, he was greatly honored by the gift and bade me convey to you his heartfelt appreciation. In addition, His Majesty consents to open negotiations for a comprehensive trade treaty between our countries. It is my ferverent hope that I will be able to send you a first draft of the agreement in the coming months.

While young and new to the throne, His Majesty seems to be a well-liked ruler who is fair and reasonable. I believe the diplomatic outlook is very good and we will be able to work well with this new leader.

The culture here holds many surprises, and even my father's brief tutoring has not prepared me for the many differences in customs and mores. I am glad to say I have made the aquaintance of two members of court, the King's Chancellor and the Baron of Wilmont, who are assisting in my acclimation. As I settle into my duties, I am making every effort to familiarize myself with the Court and its workings as well as the culture and people of D'Image.

Further updates forthcoming.
Your faithful servant,
Khalid na Abbas
