Central Missouri Celtic Arts Association

Language, Dance and Music Classes
July 9 - Aug 30, 2002

Visiting Instructor!
Marie McLean, musician and dancer from County Down, Northern Ireland is coming to Columbia for July and August to teach classes in music and dance. Marie has toured as a professional musician with the Gaelforce Dance Company, a music and dance production that followed in the footsteps of Riverdance; toured Europe with,"Divil the Bit" and played in the winning All-Ireland champion Grupai Cheoil band.

She plays the Uilleann pipes (Irish bagpipes) and tin whistles and has taught music extensively. She learned to play music by ear as a child and completed a music degree in college.  In the fall she returns to college to pursuit a degree in education with the intention of teaching primary school.

This is a great opportunity to learn Irish music from a "source player" -- someone who has grown up immersed in the wellspring of traditional music.
